  • Whoch kind of fishing bait is best for normal fishing?

Posted by admin on July 27th, 2011 and filed under Fishing Bait | 7 Comments »

Well I’m going fishing soon and I was wondering what bait to use. And suggestions and why?

i usually get the same feeling too. now, first think what kind you want to get and what method you are going to use. if your going bank fishing, stop at a tackle shop and get some live worms. set the worm on a normal sized hook (size 2 is what i usually use) with a bobber and sinker and wait till you get a nibble and set the hook. i caught many 2-3 pounder bass with worms. even with what i just said, most of the time you may not catch the biggest fish but its still fun reeling in the small fish as they pick up a hefty fight most of the time. if where your going has weeds and lily pads, get a soft weedless frog lure at your local tackle shop and fish it in the weedy shallows with a slow retrieve, faster in bigger lakes. if you have a canoe or boat, go to the deep parts of the lake (mostly in the summertime like now) and fish a spinner bait with normal retrieve.the last time i used that method was at a small lake and i caught a 16 inch pike. for bigger fish while fishing from shore, cast close to
dead logs, they can hold many large bass. if you are going with a boat, another option is using a crankbait, they can catch some lunker bass. have fun fishing and dont get angry if you dont catch any fish, having fun is what counts!

What is the best brand of fishing lures?

Posted by admin on July 23rd, 2011 and filed under Fishing Lures | 9 Comments »

I’ve been making my own Fishing Lures because I don’t know which brand is the best. I think Rapala, but I want to make sure.

There are many, many, many good brands out there, such as Rapala, Heddon, Rebel, Spro, etc. Look at lures on Bass Pro or Cabelas with alot of high rated reviews. In my opionion though, the best way to figure out which ones are best is by experimenting. That’s the best advice that anyone can give. Try and figure out what works, when it works, and why it works. This can easily be done by keeping fishing logs (can be found on Google). All you have to do is record your results and the tackle that you were using everytime you go fishing and soon enough you will see patterns. If you recognize these patterns and change your fishing techniques accordingly, you will become a better overall fisherman.
